Day 1

Departure Day: Journey Begins Westward

Departure Day Our adventure begins as we board the motorcoach and set out from home, traveling west with good company and a whole week of Colorado scenery ahead of us. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as the miles roll by. Tonight we rest at the Drury Inn in Coralville, Iowa, refreshed and ready for the journey to come. Day 2

Toward Lincoln, Nebraska

Motorcoach travel west This morning we continue west, pausing along the way at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum to explore a piece of America's railroading heritage. Welcome Dinner at Drury Inn Downtown By evening we arrive in Lincoln, Nebraska, where a welcome dinner awaits at the Drury Inn Downtown — a warm start to a week of fellowship, with the Rocky Mountains still to come.

Day 3

Onward to Denver

Motorcoach travel to Denver Today we press on into Colorado, watching the scenery shift from open plains to rolling foothills as we make our way toward Denver. Drury Inn & Suites Denver Stapleton Tonight's stop is the Drury Inn & Suites Denver Stapleton, a comfortable place to settle in before the mountain adventures ahead.

Day 4

Georgetown Loop Railroad and Silver Mine

Georgetown Loop Railroad ride The rails call today as we board the Georgetown Loop Railroad, a scenic narrow-gauge train that winds high through the mountains, with a visit to the historic Lebanon Silver Mine included along the way. Travel to Grand Junction From there we travel on to Grand Junction, sharing dinner together before settling in for the night at the Hampton Inn Grand Junction on Historic Main Street.

Corkscrew Pass & Durango & Silverton Railroad

Corkscrew Pass Jeep Tour Hold on for a thrilling jeep tour through Corkscrew Pass, taking in views few travelers ever see. Durango & Silverton Railroad Ride It's all aboard the Durango & Silverton Railroad for a classic ride through the San Juan Mountains, with lunch included along the way.

Day 6

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad and Great Sand Dunes

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Ride Today brings one of the trip's true highlights — a ride on the historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, one of the last authentic steam railroads in America, with lunch served along the way at the rustic Osier Dining Hall. Royal Gorge Route Railroad Ride We journey toward Colorado Springs today with a stop at the dramatic Royal Gorge, riding the Royal Gorge Route Railroad along the canyon floor and taking in sweeping views from Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, with lunch included.

Day 8

Pikes Peak & Garden of the Gods

Pikes Peak Cog Railway Ride Today we climb to new heights — literally — aboard the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, journeying to the summit of “America's Mountain” for sweeping views in every direction. Garden of the Gods Visit Back down the mountain, we explore the striking red rock formations of Garden of the Gods.

Day 9

Heading for Home

Great Platte River Archway and Golden Spike Museum visit As we begin the journey home, we stop at the Great Platte River Archway and Golden Spike Museum to reflect on the pioneers and railroads that shaped the American West. Farewell Dinner Tonight we return to the Drury Inn Downtown in Lincoln, Nebraska, for a farewell dinner together — a fitting close to a week of fellowship and unforgettable scenery.

Day 10

Journey Homeward Reflections

Arrival Home With hearts full and memories made, we make our way home, carrying with us the sights, sounds, and friendships from a week spent exploring Colorado's rails and Rocky Mountain beauty.
